Quick update on my test drive

DISCLAIMER: NOT THE CAR I DROVE

1) Car seems mechanically and aesthetically sound and awesome

2) In typical New England fuck-with-your-day fashion it snowed during our drive

3) Negatives: The interior is more beat up than I'd like it to be but I'll trade a slightly beat up interior for mechanical soundness 24/7 365 days a year. Also it will definitely need new tires soon.

4) No discussion on end price but we did discuss deposits and getting a PPI

5) He remarked within the first 5 minutes "you really know your shit" Damn fucking right I do

See if you can work some savings knowing you need tires. I had one dealership knock tires off the price from their shop and another just agree to pay half of whatever tires cost from the local tire shop. It's not a huge savings, but it's nice to be able to get new tires with the "new" car.

Like I mentioned in one of your previous posts, for $19K, it better be perfect. Make sure your deposit is fully refundable for any reason. Knock a couple grand off for the interior being beat up.

Welcome to the money pit...err, I mean club. I hope you have a "track-related expenses" budget already worked up.
